Troubleshooting

Gift Aid checkbox does not appear on checkout

• Confirm WooCommerce is active and checkout is not blocked by a conflicting theme.
• Check for JavaScript errors in the browser console on checkout.
• Temporarily switch to a default theme to rule out template overrides.

Settings save fails or changes do not appear

• Ensure your user has manage_woocommerce.
• Clear any page cache / optimisation plugins that cache checkout HTML.

Wrong organisation name in copy

• Update WooCommerce → Gift Aid → Organisation name; %s is replaced in several strings.

Export or manager page errors

• Increase PHP memory limit if large exports.
• Run database diagnostic on staging from Gift Aid Manager before production.

Orders missing Gift Aid meta

• Verify the checkout flow completed (no abandoned checkout).
• Check for plugins that bypass standard WooCommerce checkout hooks.
